Starting College Right!

Everyone knows the value of getting a good start in any endeavor. This is true in pursuing a college education as it is in almost anything else. By enrolling in concurrent classes available through Redlands Community College, you can begin your college degree while still in high school. And, the classes you take will satisfy general education requirements at virtually every institution of higher education in Oklahoma as well as most other states.

Who Can Take Concurrent Courses at RCC?

  • Seniors with a 3.0 GPA and acceptable test scores. Tuition is waived for current high school seniors taking courses, up to six credit hours per semester.
  • Juniors with a 3.5 GPA and acceptable test scores.

Getting Started

  • Contact your high school counselor for enrollment instructions
  • Call Redlands at (405) 422-1263 for more information
  • Complete an Application for Admission
  • Complete Recommendation Form (see below)
  • Submit high school transcript and ACT scores

General Information

  • Complete courses at your high school or another location near you.
  • Courses are offered during your regular school day schedule, with evening courses offered at some sites.
  • Meet college general education requirements at RCC and virtually all other institutions in Oklahoma.
  • Some high schools grant high school credit for certain courses, such as Government, which allow you to meet graduation requirements, while earning college credit simultaneously.
  • Receive an official college transcript for all completed coursework.

How Will Concurrent Enrollment Help Me in the Future?

  • Perfect way to prepare for the innovative FasTrack one-year associate’s degree program at Redlands.
  • Transfer to a four-year university or enter the workforce with an associate’s degree.
  • Most institutions accept all transfer hours for students with degrees, so the guesswork on whether a specific course will transfer is eliminated.
