Project Management is an emerging profession. Employers are increasingly requiring that their project managers must be certified by Project Management Institute (PMI).

PMI has established a cadre of Registered Education Providers (REPs) to conduct pre approved courses to prepare project managers for the certification exam. Project managers are employed in nearly every industry - construction, IT, banking, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and mining, to name a few.

The rush to certification has just begun. Fewer than one in 20 project managers in North America is certified. This course (TheCourseTM) was developed and is conducted by a Registered Education Provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI®).

It is registered with PMI as a 56-hour course, surpassing their 35-hour requirement, and pre-approved by PMI to prepare students for certification as Project Management Professionals (PMP ®). TheCourse teaches the core competencies of project management. It covers the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of PMBOK, the PMP code of ethics and professional conduct, and a review of general management topics that are in the PMP examination.

Course materials include:

  • PMI's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge 3rd Edition (PMBOK®),

  • Workbooks tailored for TheCourse,

  • TheTestTM, a Test Engine containing 1,000 exam-like questions, to download and use on your own computer.
