Redlands Community College is offering a Dutch oven cooking workshop on September 25, 2010, 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the historic Darlington Agriculture Education and Research Center. Participants will learn the basics of Dutch oven cooking to create cobblers, main dishes, breads and other foods in a camp setting or in the backyard.

The workshop will include instruction, copies of the recipes participants will prepare in class, and the care and cleaning of Dutch ovens. A buffet meal of those recipes will be served as part of the class.

The instructor for the Dutch oven cooking workshop will be Luann Sewell Waters. Waters has over 17 years of experience in Dutch oven and camp cooking. She has taught classes across the United States for groups including: Bass Pro, Cabela's, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Aldo Leopold Foundation, OSU and OU.

The workshop is being held as a fundraiser for two local projects, The Darlington Chapel Restoration Project and the Voices of the Chisholm Trail Project. Participation is limited to the first thirty paid reservations. Reservations are $50 each.
