Ecklund Named VP for Academic Affairs

Dr. Todd EcklundRedlands Community College has named Dr. Todd Ecklund vice president for Academic Affairs. He will oversee all academic programs and facilitate the development and implementation of new programs and courses.

“Redlands is very fortunate to have someone with Dr. Ecklund’s experience and educational background join our team. As an instructor and administrator, he brings valuable knowledge and ideas that will benefit our students and faculty,” said Redlands President Jack Bryant. “I look forward to working with him to enhance our current academic programs and to expand both services to students and partnerships with businesses and education institutions.”

Ecklund most recently served as vice president for Academic Support Services at Pueblo Community College in Colorado. He has held administrative and faculty positions at two-year and four-year institutions in Colorado, Texas, Iowa and South Dakota.

After serving nearly 10 years in the Army, Ecklund pursued an associate degree at North Hennepin Community College before earning a Bachelor of Applied Business and Master of Education in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota. He earned a Doctoral of Education in Adult and Higher Education from the University of South Dakota, with a dissertation titled “Effective Practices of Faculty Evaluation in Iowa Community Colleges.”

“I firmly believe in and am committed to advancing the mission of the two-year college,” Ecklund said. “I am excited to work with the faculty and staff here at Redlands to ensure that students have the courses, programs and opportunities that will set them up for success at a four-year university or in the workplace.”
