The Redlands Community College Livestock Judging Team clinched team honors as well as several individual awards at the American Royal Livestock Exhibitors contest in Kansas City.

Competing against 28 teams from across the country in the junior college division, the Redlands team was named Second High Team Overall, and three team members earned individual honors.

Sophomore Blake Janssen placed fifth overall, and finished second in Swine and third in Reasons. Sophomore Connor Pell finished sixth in Cattle, and Jack Habjan placed ninth in Reasons.

“Livestock Judging is a very difficult and competitive field, and the American Royal Livestock contest is a very prestigious competition,” said Redlands Coach Spencer Scotten. “I am so proud of our students who have worked so hard in this program and are carrying on the Redlands Agriculture legacy.”
