Redlands English Composition II Course Offers Students Innovative Service-Learning Experience
El Reno, Okla. – Redlands Community College is piloting new service-learning programming in spring 2015 beginning with two sections of English Composition II taught for concurrent Redlands students at Mustang High School.
Governor Appoints Dr. Juanita Krittenbrink to Redlands Community College Board of Regents
Dr. Juanita Krittenbrink, a native of Okarche, joined the Redlands Community College Board of Regents on Feb. 12. She has been appointed by the Governor to complete the term left vacant by the resignation of Regent Tracey Wills. Dr. Krittenbrink’s appointment will conclude April 2018.
Redlands agriculture program continues winning ways in Fort Worth
The Redlands Community College Agriculture program added another strong showing to this year’s list of accomplishments. The Beef Show Team won a reserve division championship and multiple top placings at the recent Fort Worth Stock Show.
El Reno Masonic Lodge #50 and Redlands Community College Aggie Club raise money for scholarship fund
El Reno, Okla. – The 9th Annual El Reno Masonic Lodge and Redlands Community College Aggie Club Calf Fry raised $10,000 for Scholarships. The club raised $5,000 during the meal and live auction and the funds were matched by The Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma.
Native American Art Student excels in Redlands Community College Fine Arts Program.
Anna Valdez a member of the Kickapoo Tribe has found success studying art at Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla.
As President of the Art Club, a Member of the Academic Team, and a participant in the All Nations Living Learning Community, Anna Valdez of Binger Okla., has been very active in her first year of community college. She also holds down two part time jobs and is striving to begin her career as a professional artist.
Redlands Community College student excels through collaboration with Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board
Redlands Community College’s All Nations Business Institute recently collaborated with the Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board through an innovative on-campus internship program.
The connection with COWIB was made by Redlands President Jack Bryant. Bryant has served on the COWIB board since 2000 and was influential in creating this “real-world” learning experience at Redlands.
Redlands Academic Team Four Time State Champions
Redlands Academic A Team swept the state championship competition for the fourth year in a row and the Redlands Academic B Team finished third overall.
Redlands Community College to select 8 students for NASA summer program
El Reno, Okla. – Redlands Community College has been funded to select eight students for a NASA summer program. Students selected for the UR NASA program will participate in a summer inquiry-based learning project under the mentorship of college faculty and industry partners. The Project UR NASA summer experience is an opportunity for students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics.

Redlands Community College hosted Mike Wimmer Artist Talk and Reception on Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery located in the Multi-media building on campus.
According to Redlands Art Professor and Curator of the Art Gallery Nick Bayer, “Mike Wimmer is an Oklahoma treasure and you can’t miss this opportunity to see work spanning his entire career. Mike will talk about his career and give insight into his creative process. This is a great chance to see world class art in your own backyard.”
El Reno Rotary Club hosts international visitor as part of Redlands global initiative
Adele Dawson, a senior administrator from South Devon College in England, was the featured speaker at the January Rotary meeting. Dawson’s presentation included an overview of the international education opportunities for Oklahoma and U.K. students. Dawson has been working with administrators at Redlands Community College to develop international experiences. The focus of the international exchange will be in the areas of Business, Science, Health Care and Tourism.
