It’s time to begin thinking about summer plans, and registration is open for several Redlands programs. Online registration is available for most children’s programs at www.redlandscc.edu/life-redlands/summer-programs.
Redlands’ popular Kids’ College provides numerous exciting learning activities for children. This program is a chance for children to explore 24 different sessions in one week. Some session topics include science, art, health, drama and language. Kids’ College is unique in that the curriculum in the various academic areas is created and taught by Redlands college students and graduates, with assistance by faculty.
Students who have completed first through sixth grades may attend one, one-week session of Redlands Kids’ College June 3-6 or June 10-13. These sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. The deadline to register is May 30, and the cost is $50 per student.
The Athletic Department is offering camps for both golf and soccer. The golf camp will be led by Taylor Sliauter, Redlands golf coach, and Kevin Armold, head golf professional at Crimson Creek Golf Course.
The camp is May 28 through 31 with sessions from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 to 9 and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages 10 to 13. The cost is $100 per golfer, which includes a junior golfer t-shirt. Clubs are provided if needed. Registration ends May 1. The Redlands Youth Soccer Camp is for children ages 6 to 12 and scheduled for June 10 to 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Adams Park in El Reno. The cost is $120 and includes instruction by college coaches and players, drinks, snacks, and a camp t-shirt. The curriculum includes individual skills, small-sided games, full-sided games, laws of the game, tactical training and more. Players are given a fun introduction to the basic skills of the game, such as juggling, dribbling, shooting and passing.
Redlands’ annual Livestock Judging Camp is June 3 through 5. Open to all ages, the camp provides three days of hands-on judging experience and one-on-one reasons coaching. The cost is $285, and the deadline to register is May 20.
