EL RENO, Okla. — The Redlands’ women’s soccer team will play its first home game at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at El Reno Public Schools Memorial Stadium against Kansas’ Pratt Community College.

“I think we will have a very competitive year,” said Redlands Coach Trevor Harmon. “We are a team full of freshman which brings challenges, but the girls have really come together and formed as a team.”

After a rain out last week at home, the team travelled Monday to Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas, to play its first regularly scheduled game and came away with a 3-2 win. Shatoya Delvalle, who scored the first goal in Redlands women’s soccer history, finished the game with two goals and one assist. Abby Day added another assist, and Avery Eason scored the game-winning goal.

Leading up to the regular season, the team scrimmaged against Mid-America Christian University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

“The girls work hard for each other and lift each other up when one gets down. They don’t go down without a fight either,” Harmon said. “I am very pleased with how our pre-season has gone.”

The team has been practicing at the City of El Reno’s Adams Park, and El Reno Public Schools is hosting the games at Memorial Stadium.

The team will play Sept. 6 at Mountain View College in Dallas, while the rest of the games will be against Oklahoma colleges. The season continues through October, and district playoffs begin in November. Visit for a complete schedule.

Admission for Friday’s game is $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to Redlands students and faculty with a current ID. Children under 12 are free.
