Mathematics is a rich discipline with powerful abstract ideas, wide-ranging applications, and a long history. Mathematics complements virtually any career. The Mathematics Department of Redlands Community College offers a full spectrum of mathematics courses from college algebra and trigonometry to statistics, business calculus, and algebra based calculus. Courses are taught by full-time faculty and part-time faculty who also work in research, industry, government, and education. - Pre-Professional Sciences Mathematics: Associates in Science A.S. degree.

Accuplacer tests are administered on a walk-in basis, Mon–Fri between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, in the Academic Center for Enhancement (ACE), and also at prescheduled orientation sessions. There is no charge for the Accuplacer test.
The Redlands Community College Department of Mathematics wants students to succeed and understands that students do best when they have a suitable background for each course. The purpose of the math placement test is to determine the appropriate first math course for each undergraduate student. The Mathematics Department enforces prerequisites for mathematics courses; before enrolling in one of these courses, you may need to pass a placement test. Since Math is a sequential learning process, it is important for a student to begin where they are comfortable. ## Mu Alpha ThetaMu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics. Mu Alpha Theta organizes meetings and activities to promote the understanding of mathematics as a subject and enhance the appreciation for mathematics for students and faculty. As a student chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, students and faculty explore new developments and careers in the field of mathematics and related fields, and provide opportunities for both students and faculty to collaborate.
