REDLANDS WOMEN’S GOLF QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS

EL RENO, Okla. — The Redlands Community College Women’s Golf Team hosted the NJCAA Region 2 Qualifier Championship Tournament at its home course, Crimson Creek, in El Reno, on Monday, April 17. The team’s victory in that tournament qualified them to travel to Duluth, Georgia, for the National Championship Tournament, May 15 through 18.

Redlands competed against Murray State College and Seminole State College for the win. Redlands team members include Magda Kruger, Mathilde Revilliod, Debora Orieta, Faii Serisamran and Liz Hargis. Kruger, from South Africa, won individual medalist.

“I’m very proud of the girls for the win they fought for,” said Redlands Coach Andrea Kaelin. “They proved their grit and determination after trailing Murray State by 2 shots after the first round and coming back to win the overall by 18 shots. I think they learned a lot from this experience, and it gives them confidence leading up to the National Tournament.”
