Received her B.S. in Biological Science from Oklahoma State University and a Oklahoma Secondary Teacher Certification and taught 7-12 grade science at Corn Bible Academy in Corn, Oklahoma.

She returned to Oklahoma State University to complete her M.S. in Natural and Applied Science concentrating in Microscopy, Botany, and Zoology. Her research focused on an anatomical study of cheat grass in a collaborative project with the Botany, Agronomy and Agricultural Engineering departments for cheat control in wheat.

In 1997 she worked as an assistant Plant Pathologist in seedless watermelon research for American Sunmelon in Hinton, Oklahoma.

She began teaching at Redlands Community College in 1998 and is currently the Science Coordinator and Professor teaching Human Physiology, Botany, Zoology and Leadership Development; and is also the Campus Coordinator for the NIH Bridges to Baccalaureate grant and the coordinator for the Community College Outreach Core of the Oklahoma INBRE grant in which she mentors several students a semester on applied research projects and maintains the research laboratories.

She serves on several RCC committees including global education committee, curriculum committee, writing assessment committee, and the nursing program advisory committee. Currently she serves on the Executive Committee for the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges and was appointed as a member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use committee (IACUC) for Emergency Preparedness and Response Solutions.

Reonna was a member of Class X of Leadership Canadian County, was named RCC Teacher of the Year, RCC America’s Star Teacher, and to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers six times. She has received the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) teaching excellence award, NISOD master presenter, and has served as a facilitator in the Leadership for life program for the Leadership Development Institute and several Leadership seminars for the Oklahoma RC&D Councils.

She is a member of many professional Science organizations and is very active in Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Lambda, and serves on the Great Plains RC & D council.
