Part-time position(s), working up to 25 hours per week. Livestock work is mainly with cattle and horses. Duties will include attending to live animals, which includes feeding, watering, herding, weighing, chute catching, and loading animals. Other duties may include maintaining records on animals, examining animals to detect diseases and injuries, assisting in birth deliveries, and administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate. Applicants must be able to do general cleaning and maintenance of grounds, including cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas; be able to operate tractors, mowers, and string trimmers; and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Additionally, applicants must be able to tolerate extreme cold and hot temperatures; and be able to work a highly flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Enrollment in at least six (6) credit hours at Redlands Community College preferred.
