Scholarship Applications Available Online

The online scholarship and tuition waiver application is open for current and prospective Redlands Community College students. New tuition waiver scholarships are available and most range from $250 to $1,000 for each academic year. The Redlands Community College Foundation offers nearly 40 scholarships, including an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to receive a scholarship that offsets fees associated with concurrent classes.

“We are pleased to be able to offer students a way to make a college education more affordable,” said Redlands President Jack Bryant. “Financial aid is necessary for so many students, and these tuition waivers and foundation scholarships help fill the financial gap for Redlands students.”

In addition to tuition waivers for incoming freshmen and returning students, the college is offering the Glen D. Johnson Leadership Tuition Waiver in honor of Chancellor Johnson upon his retirement from the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. Two incoming freshmen will be selected for this award and will receive a $1,000 tuition waiver for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Applicants for the Freshman Tuition Waiver will also be considered for the Regents and Presidential Scholarships. With approval from the State Regents for Higher Education, the Regents Scholarship can be transferred to a four-year institution.

The foundation offers a variety of scholarships, including awards designated for graduates of Calumet, Okarche and El Reno; scholarships for specific areas of study; and other more general scholarships.

A list of foundation scholarships and their criteria is available online at www.redlandscc.edu/scholarshps. Most foundation scholarship applications are due February 1, and recipients will be notified in April. However, applications for nursing scholarships are due May 31, and notifications are sent in June.

Tuition waiver scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualified applicants. Applications are also due February 1, and recipients will be notified by mid-March.

High school juniors and seniors are able to take college courses tuition free, but they are still responsible for fees associated with the classes. The Redlands Foundation has established a scholarship to help cover those fees which could allow these students to take completely free classes. Scholarships are available for the Fall and Spring semesters, so students must apply for each semester. The scholarship does not cover the cost of textbooks or course materials.

Applications for Spring 2022 concurrent scholarships must be submitted by 5 p.m. January 10. Notification letters will be sent to all applicants by January 28.
