Job Description

Redlands Community College is seeking a highly organized and dependable Administrative Assistant to support the Department Head of Nursing and Allied Health. This full-time position plays a critical role in managing the daily operations of a fast-paced academic department, and supporting nursing and allied health faculty, students, and program initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Department Head and program faculty
  • Coordinate meetings, travel, events, and maintain department calendars
  • Track and reconcile departmental budget; process purchase orders and P-card transactions
  • Handle confidential personnel and student information in compliance with FERPA
  • Maintain student records and files for program accreditation and admissions
  • Assist with the organization of data and reports for internal and external reporting
  • Support student success efforts through scheduling, referrals, and communication
  • Assist with student records for the admissions process
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the department and college

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of full-time work experience in a secretarial, administrative, or banking role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Internet and email proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Experience in a healthcare, nursing, or academic setting

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work at a computer for long durations
  • Willingness to attend institutional events, in-service trainings, and participate in college committees
