Job Description
Redlands Community College is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform a variety
of maintenance, repair, custodial, and campus support duties to help maintain a safe,
functional, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. The General Maintenance Worker
performs building maintenance while serving as the primary custodian for assigned
campus buildings and supporting campus operations through event setup, grounds maintenance,
and emergency response.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform rough and finish carpentry with shop equipment and power tools, including
drills, saws, sanders, planers, nail guns, routers, and radial arm saws.
Replace and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, heating, and drainage
systems.
Repair or replace doors, door locks, and door hardware; install window blinds.
Make routine electrical repairs, including replacing ceiling fans, exhaust fans, lighting
fixtures, electrical outlets, appliances, light switches, and ballasts.
Replace and repair drywall damage; tape, plaster, sand, texture walls, and paint.
Mix prepared paint and apply it to various surfaces both inside and outside of buildings
using brushes, spray guns, and rollers.
Identify and perform basic repairs for plumbing leaks or breaks; clear clogged lines
and drains; replace washers and other minor parts; repair or replace hot water heaters.
Assist in HVAC maintenance and repair or replacement tasks.
Snow removal as required.
Work under limited or no supervision.
Communicate with other staff regarding the status of work orders.
Use a computer to access email, receive work instructions, and other administrative
information.
Perform daily custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting,
trash removal, and restroom cleaning.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to move 50 pounds and work on ladders and elevated spaces.
Preferred:
Good skills in the use of hand or power tools.

Clery Statement
Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study

Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery
Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These
