Phantom Fundraiser to Replace Dollars for Scholars Event

Scholarships play a vital role in making college a reality for many students, and the Redlands Community College Foundation is able to provide thousands of dollars in scholarships each year due to the success of its annual fundraiser. This year the Foundation is departing from its popular Dollars for Scholars event to hold a Phantom Fundraiser.

“Through the generosity of donors over the past few years, we have been able to increase scholarship opportunities for Redlands students,” said Brooke Robertson, president of the Foundation. “We knew we wanted to provide a fun way for people to continue supporting the scholarship program while avoiding our typical large gathering. This Phantom Fundraiser is an easy way to help us continue providing much-needed financial aid to students.”

The Phantom Fundraiser includes various levels of giving based on several of the popular donation options from the Dollars for Scholars events. Donors can give $30 for each ticket they won’t be purchasing, $75 for the popular Von Tungeln bread they won’t be fighting over, $150 for not losing at the blackjack table, $350 for not taking home one of the elaborate silent auction baskets, $500 for not bidding on a live auction item, $1,000 for not being a table sponsor, and any amount for not being tempted by some of the delicious desserts that are typically auctioned.

For contributions received by October 15, the donor will be entered into a drawing for a Series 5 Apple Watch. Donors will receive an entry for every $50 given.

“Each year the Redlands Community College Foundation provides several scholarship opportunities to our students,” said Redlands President Jack Bryant. “We are grateful that so many continue to support the Foundation’s scholarship programs, and we appreciate the efforts of the Foundation to create a giving opportunity despite current challenges.”

Money raised through the Phantom Fundraiser will support scholarships and programs administered by the Redlands Community College Foundation.
