Support Provided for Returning Students

Through the Reach Higher program, Redlands Community College is helping students who have some college credit get back in the classroom and on the path to earning an associate degree.

During its Reach Higher: RECONNECT event June 12, staff will be helping students learn how to pay for college and discover a career that’s right for them. Individuals who enroll that day will have a chance to win a scholarship for the Fall semester, and eligible students can apply for the Reach Higher Finish Line Scholarship. Those who register online for the event and visit with an adviser at the event will have a chance to win a Walmart gift card, but there are a limited number available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Academic advisers will be available throughout the event to answer questions and help students enroll for the Fall semester. Attendees can also take a tour of the campus.

“Returning to college or starting for the first time can be scary, so our staff wants to make the process as easy as we can,” said Jennifer Alt, executive director of Student Services and Grants. “Our academic advisors are ready to sit down with students to figure out a schedule that works best for them, whether that’s on campus or online.”

Sessions are scheduled June 12 from 1-4 p.m. and from 4-7 p.m. Individuals should go to www.redlandscc.edu/apply to complete an admissions application and then register for the event at www.redlandscc.edu/reach-higher.
