Gov. Kevin Stitt reappointed Lori Burns of Amber to serve a full, seven-year term on the Redlands Community College Board of Regents.

“Regent Burns’ reappointment provides important continuity and leadership for the college,” said Redlands Community College President Jena Marr. “Her insight, professionalism, and dedication to education make her a valued voice on the board as Redlands continues to grow and expand opportunities for our students and communities.”

Burns, an elementary school counselor and high school science teacher at Amber-Pocasset Public Schools, has been serving on the board since 2020 when she was selected to complete the remaining six years of the term left vacant by the resignation of Richard Ruhl. She has spent over 25 years in education, teaching agriculture and science, and serving as a counselor and an FFA advisor.

“It is an honor to continue serving Redlands,” said Burns. “As an educator, I believe strongly in the power of accessible, high-quality education, and I am proud to support a college that is preparing students for meaningful careers and opportunities.”

Marr added, “Regent Burns brings a deep understanding of education and a genuine commitment to students to the Redlands Board of Regents. Her experience as an educator and counselor strengthens the board’s work and helps ensure the college remains focused on student success and community needs.”
