FAFSA Filing Assistance Available

Completing the annual Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process can be a daunting task, but Redlands’ financial aid team is ready to help families complete the FAFSA.

Normal business hours on Mondays are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., but on Mondays during the weeks of Oct. 19 to Nov. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., the financial aid staff will be focused on helping families navigate the FAFSA. This assistance is open to anyone regardless of what college or university they plan to attend.

“There can be so many challenges when starting college for the first time or trying to pick up where you left off,” said Paris Przekurat, Redlands’ director of Financial Aid. “We want to ease some of the stress by providing help with one of the most important steps in the financial aid process.”

The FAFSA application is available annually beginning Oct. 1. By applying early, qualified students have the opportunity to receive additional federal and state aid to assist with college expenses.

Registration for Redlands’ assistance in filling out the FAFSA is not required but recommended. To complete the FAFSA with the Redlands staff, students must bring their parents or their parental information, including social security numbers, dates of birth and 2019 tax returns, if filed. Applicants will also need to bring their own 2019 federal tax returns, if filed, along with their social security number and date of birth. Before arriving, students should create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). The FSA ID gives students access to FAFSA and can serve as a legal signature.
