Redlands Livestock Judging Team Brings Home Championships

The Redlands Community College Livestock Judging Team is bringing home numerous awards, including overall team championship honors, from the Fort Worth Stock Show and the National Western Stock Show in Denver.

At the competition in Denver, the Redlands team was named High Team Overall and High Team Overall in the Carload Contest, and finished High Team in Reasons, Cattle and Swine, and third High Team in Sheep and Goats. At the Fort Worth Stock Show, the team won High Team Overall and High Team in Reasons, Cattle, Sheep and Goats, and finished third in Horses and Swine.

Between the two competitions, almost every team member earned individual honors. The team includes Mason Allan, Nocona, Texas; Garrison Bass, Minco; Caroline Boysen, Santa Fe, Texas; Ryan Deschand, Fredonia, Penn.; Kenedy DeVoe, Justin, Texas; Chyann Emerson, Tuttle; Max Fischer, Iowa Park, Texas; Lyndsey Garrett, Carlisle, Ky.; Jack Habjan, Linwood, Kan.; Nash Hensley, Markleville, Ind.; Blake Janssen, Amber; Riley Pearce, Enola, Ark.; Connor Pell, Adair; Hunter Perrier, Bartlesville; Brooke Seal, Splendora, Texas; Garrett Walden, Toganoxie, Kan.; and Stetson Wiss, Lamar, Mo.

“I am so proud of this team. Livestock judging is a very difficult and competitive field, but these students have put in hours of preparation. That effort has been apparent in their success this season,” said Redlands Coach Spencer Scotten.
