COMPASS® is a comprehensive computerized adaptive test used by RCC to determine course placement for entering students. COMPASS® is not a pass/fail, but instead determines which courses are best suited to the student's level of readiness. The placement test consists of 3 different tests: math, writing and reading, with each test being unique and un-timed. The placement test is offered Monday - Friday from 8:15 am - 2:00 pm and on Monday Evening at 5:30 pm. You must show a valid photo ID and a purple slip from an advisor in order to take the test. Only one retest per semester, with a minimum of 24 hour waiting period and a $10 retest fee to be paid in the Business Office.
