Governor Appoints Dr. Juanita Krittenbrink to Redlands Community College Board of Regents

Dr. Juanita Krittenbrink, a native of Okarche, joined the Redlands Community College Board of Regents on Feb. 12. She has been appointed by the Governor to complete the term left vacant by the resignation of Regent Tracey Wills. Dr. Krittenbrink’s appointment will conclude April 2018.

“We are excited to welcome Regent Krittenbrink to the Board. Her lifelong commitment to education and her knowledge of Redlands and our service area are a welcome addition on the Board and across campus,” said Redlands President Jack Bryant. “She served Oklahoma higher education with a distinguished career as a leader and educator before her retirement and we are fortunate to have her bring that experience and understanding to her role as a Regent.”

Regent Krittenbrink, previously known as Dr. K by her students and colleagues, is a longtime advocate for Redlands Community College. Before retiring from Redlands in 2012, she served as the Division Director for Liberal Studies and Management Sciences for 11 years. Previous to her administrative experience, she was an adjunct instructor and later a full-time professor of English, speech and humanities.

Regent Richard Ruhl, "It is an honor and privilege for me to welcome Dr. Krittenbrink to the Redlands Board of Regents. Her higher education experience and dedication to the College will be a valuable asset to the Redlands Board of Regents. I look forward to working with Dr. Krittenbrink."

In addition to her career in higher education, Regent Krittenbrink serves on the Board of Russell Murray Hospice, as a Co-Coordinator for Leadership El Reno, as an officer of Apron Annie’s HCE Organization while being very active at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Board of Regents President, Travis Ketter said, “Welcoming Regent K back to join the Board was an honor. She has a connection in some way to so many people in the Redlands family you could feel the room was a little lighter having her back. I haven’t seen that many smiles in the Regents room in a long time. Having an educator’s viewpoint on the board will be a great addition.”

Regent Krittenbrink’s higher education experience is extensive. She is an inductee in the Oklahoma Association of Community College’s Hall of Fame, a Recipient of the Great Ideas for Teaching (G.I.F.T.) Award, and was recognized as Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.

“I am excited to have a member of the Board who can provide an opinion on items under consideration based on personal experience. This adds a new dimension to Board decisions,” said Regent Lynda McColl.

As an Academic Division Director Krittenbrink, was honored in the Phi Theta Kappa’s Distinguished Administrator Program. She has also been recognized as an exceptional educator in local, regional and national awards from the Redlands Aggie Club, OACC’s Global Education Consortium as well as the National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development.

According to Regent Krittenbrink, “I am so honored to return to Redlands Community College. I pray that as a Regent, I can help make decisions for what is best for our students, faculty, and entire college community. Upon my retirement, I think a part of my heart remained. It's great to be back!!”
