Here at Redlands we realize the importance of school/life balance and its critical impact on the productivity and general well-being of each and every one of us. We also understand that school-related pressure, or stress, can make it hard to in the classroom and at home, and at times might also get amplified by additional, more personal, aspects of our lives!
Which is why we’re excited to announce that Redlands has partnered with BetterHelp - the world's largest therapy provider - in extending an additional layer of support to you…providing access to professional counseling, anytime, anywhere. BetterHelp is the largest online counseling platform worldwide, changing the way people get help with facing life's challenges by providing convenient, discreet and affordable access to a licensed therapist. BetterHelp makes professional counseling available anytime, anywhere, through a computer, tablet or smartphone.
Who are the counselors?
Counselors on BetterHelp are licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited psychologists (PhD / PsyD), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), or licensed professional counselors (LPC). All of them have a Master’s Degree or a Doctorate Degree in their field. They have been qualified and certified by their state's professional board after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training and practice. While their experience, expertise and background vary, they all possess at least 3 years and 2,000 hours of hands-on experience. Click here to learn more about the counselors.
Will Redlands know that I am getting counseling?
No. No one at Redlands will know who is receiving counseling and will not have any access to your counseling or other personal data. You can also select an anonymous username and use your personal email when you sign up.
Who pays for the sessions?
Redlands’ NASNTI Part F grant will provide four free consecutive sessions to all current Redlands students. The grant will pay the monthly fee for active users as long as funds are available. The NASNTI Part F grant was awarded to increase the college’s capacity to offer high-quality digital learning and enhance mental health resources for students. It is funded through the U.S. Department of Education for five years with total funding of $2,061,000.
Is the service available to all students?
This resource is not available to concurrent (high school junior and senior) students, but all other current students can utilize the service.
