Through the Reach Higher program, Redlands Community College is helping students who have some college credit get back in the classroom and on the path to earning an associate degree.
During its Reach Higher: RECONNECT event Oct. 26, the college will hold two special sessions during the afternoon and evening to help students find out how to pay for college and discover a career that’s right for them. Academic advisors will be available throughout the event to answer questions and help students enroll for the Spring semester. Attendees can also take a tour of the campus.
“Returning to college or starting for the first time can be scary, so our staff wants to make the process as easy as we can,” said Tricia Hobson, executive director of Student Services. “Our academic advisors are ready to sit down with students to figure out a schedule that works best for them, whether that’s on campus or online.”
The afternoon event is from 1 to 4 p.m. with financial aid sessions at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and the evening event, running from 4 to 7 p.m., will have financial aid sessions at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Faculty from several areas, including business, criminal justice, nursing, STEM, liberal arts and agriculture, will be sharing information about careers in their subject areas.
Every student who enrolls during these events will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three $1,000 tuition waivers or a gift bag filled with Redlands gear.
