Job Description

Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates for adjunct teaching positions in the sciences, including Biology, Anatomy, and Chemistry. These positions are for day, and evening in-person classes offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. This is a part-time, temporary adjunct faculty role reporting to the Department Head.

This is a continuous vacancy announcement, filled on an “as-needed” basis. All applications are kept on file, and applicants will be notified when courses become available. Work may be performed online or in an office/classroom environment, involving significant public interaction, whether in person, by telephone, via email, or through various communication platforms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Teaching assigned classes
  • Supporting curriculum integrity in collaboration with the Department Head
  • Following the official Redlands Community College course calendar, including holiday breaks and designated start/end times
  • Assess and encourage student achievement per student learning objectives
  • Interact in an effective and encouraging manner with students, both individually and in groups
  • Promote the mission of the Department, as well as the College as a whole 

Qualifications include:  

  • Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline is required  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in clear, grammatically correct English
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), email, and internet use

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience is preferred
  • Experience in various teaching delivery formats is preferred
