Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Professor
of History position. This is a tenure-track, nine-month position with excellent benefits,
reporting to the Department Head of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences.
Responsibilities include: Teaching responsibilities include offering a full range of history courses across
all levels. The successful candidate will actively contribute to statewide course
equivalency initiatives to support credit transfer and curricular alignment. Candidates
are also expected to teach, advise, recruit, and mentor students; evaluate student
performance; and maintain appropriate records in accordance with college policies.
Candidates should be committed to the educational philosophy of the college and demonstrate
a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues. Participation in departmental
and faculty meetings, professional development, and campus initiatives related to
student engagement and retention is required. The successful candidate will also contribute
to curriculum development and assessment planning within the history discipline. Candidates
must be prepared to teach in multiple instructional formats—including face-to-face,
hybrid, and online—and be available for morning, afternoon, and evening classes. Teaching
assignments may include off-site locations, such as concurrent enrollment courses
at local high schools.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree or above in History from a regionally accredited college or university
with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline; have two years of full time
teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred with dedication to teaching,
professional development, and academic student engagement; and be an accomplished,
creative, and energetic teacher that can provide evidence of teaching and mentoring
undergraduate students. Effective online teaching experience including completion
of Quality Matters online training certification (or willingness to complete).
Preferred Qualifications: A Doctorate is preferred; Community College teaching experience is preferred.

Clery Statement
Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study
and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and
security of our campuses.
Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery
Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These
notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as
determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges
and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands,
to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is
believed to exist.
