Building on the momentum of a successful Summer semester, Redlands Community College is experiencing substantial growth in the student population with a 10.8% increase in total enrollment this Fall, including a historic boost in concurrent enrollment with a 21.2% increase.

“It is an exciting time to be at Redlands with the growth in programs and partnerships, and campus is busy with housing at capacity,” said President Jena Marr. “We have been working diligently to expand courses and degree programs in response to the needs of business and industry, and we are thrilled with the demand for both in-person and online classes.”

A leading provider of concurrent enrollment to high school students for more than 30 years, Redlands offers college classes tuition free to high school juniors and seniors, so the only expense is fees or textbooks. And as an additional cost-saving measure, many of the general education courses at Redlands use free e-textbooks. Students in numerous school districts are being instructed either on their high school campus, at Redlands or online.

In addition to more than 1,000 high school student taking courses concurrently, the college attracted students from 27 states, Puerto Rico and 3 countries.

“The Admissions and Advising team has done an amazing job working with new and returning students to make sure they are getting the classes they want and need,” Marr said. “They are focused on enrolling students in courses that will meet requirements of four-year universities or guiding them towards courses that will give them the skills necessary to jump into a career immediately.”

A successful partnership with career technology centers also allows the college to offer several programs that combine block credit from a career technology center with general education course credit from Redlands to lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree. Programs include options in Allied Health, Business and Accounting, Computer Systems and Applications, and Industrial Power and Transportation.

The second session of eight-week classes begins Oct. 9. Contact the Admissions and Advising office at 405.422.1417 or email Admissions@redlandscc.edu to enroll. The schedule of classes is available online.
