Standards and Procedures

  1. Admissions Standards and Procedures

Prospective international students should take the following procedures to submit an application for admission:

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

In order to be considered for federal financial aid, including grants, loans, and work-study, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The FAFSA may be completed either online, at www.fafsa.gov, or on paper.

Work Study

What is Federal Work-Study?
The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study.

Grants

What is a Federal Pell Grant?
A Federal Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's degree.

Loans

Direct Loans
Direct Loans are a major form of self-help aid for students. Under direct loans, the funds for your loan are lent to you from the Department of Education.

What kinds of Direct Loans are available?
Direct Loans are either subsidized or unsubsidized. You can receive a subsidized loan and an unsubsidized loan for the same enrollment period.
