Tyler McKenzie, a pre-professional sciences major at Redlands Community College, represented the college at the 2018 George and Donna Nigh Leadership Scholarship Academy.
"I thought the experience was overall an amazing learning opportunity to witness the steps towards becoming a better leader,” McKenzie said. “I created a variety of relationships and bonds that I will use for a lifetime, and I am so grateful to have had the chance to meet so many wonderful people."
Dr. Juanita Krittenbrink, a native of Okarche, is beginning her first full term on the Redlands Community College Board of Regents. She was appointed by the Governor in 2015 to fill a vacant seat and was recently reappointed to serve until April 2025.
Redlands Community College is partnering with El Reno Masonic Lodge #50 to host the annual Aggie Club scholarship banquet and fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. May 10 in the Redlands Conference Center.
The event features silent and live auctions with proceeds providing scholarships for agriculture students. For every dollar raised, Masonic Lodge #50 requests matching funds from its charity foundation. Tickets are $12 at the door, with dinner catered by Swadley’s.
Nearly 250 students will graduate from Redlands Community College Friday, May 11, with degrees that have prepared them to continue their education at a four-year university or begin making an impact in the workforce.
The Redlands Community College Women’s Golf team will be travelling to Mesa, Ariz., May 14 through 17 to compete in the NJCAA National Golf Tournament.
“We played hard all year, showing progress at each tournament, and I’m very happy with the way the girls finished the regular season,” said Redlands Coach Taylor Neidy. “We are excited to compete against the best in the country and represent Redlands Community College on a national level.”
Redlands Community College recently announced students named to the college’s honor rolls for the Spring 2018 semester.
Students listed on the President’s Honor Roll have completed 12 or more credit hours and have earned a GPA of not less than 3.8, with no grade less than a B – excluding 0-level courses. The Vice President’s Honor Roll is for students who have completed 12 or more hours of coursework and have earned a GPA of 3.5 to 3.79, with no grade less than a C – excluding 0-level courses.
Classes will resume at Redlands Community College Aug. 13, and to help new and returning students prepare for the fall semester, the Student Services office will hold a special enrollment night from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 7.
